Animal By-Products

The Animal by-products regulation 1069/2009 and the implementing Regulation 142/2011 lay down public health and animal health rules for animal by-products and derived products, in order to prevent and minimize risks to public and animal health arising from those products, and in particular to protect the safety of the food and feed chain.

In the regulations there are rules for collection, transport, storage, handling, processing, use, intra-community trade, import and disposal of animal by-products and derived products.
